The members of the Molalla
Radio Control Association gather at the field on most
holidays, but particularly on the Fourth of July and Labor Day.
This Labor Day was no exception. Many of the members,
their wives, and families arrived early and flew all day.
A pot luck lunch was served early in the afternoon. The
club furnished barbequed hamburgers, chicken breasts, polish
sausages, and drinks. The families provided baked beans,
salads, chips, pies, brownies, cakes, cup cakes, watermelon,
pasta salads, cookies, green salads, fruit bowls, and more.
In all, about 150 people came to fly and dine.
Jerry Kraft flew his
big "Home Depot" biplane, and Brian Welton, our Jr.
National Champion, performed a remarkable flying demonstration.
All sorts of sport planes, scale, IMAC, and electrics flew
through out the day. The boys flew the company plane
and gave a lesson. The main order of business was to meet
the families and guests, and to share the great weather , fun,
food, and friendship that our club provides.
If you missed this
year's event, put it on your calendar for next year. Bring
an airplane, a guest or two, along with your appetite, and
enjoy!
