Wow, another one in the box! This may have been
the largest and most fun of all the tournaments we've had. Television,
newspapers, good food, great weather, super pilots, and great
friends. Thank you all for making this event so successful.
The Boy's Baseball team had a great food concession and
car parking contributions, which earned them a good sum to support their
activities. They are extremely grateful for the opportunity you have
given them.
We had the most vendors on the grounds than ever
before. Please thank the folks at Coyote
Hobby, Fromeco
Scale Avionics LLC, and Proctor
Enterprises for attending. These vendors help give our event
credibility throughout the modeling community. The t-shirts sold
like hot-cakes. Thank you for purchasing them! The swap meet was a
bust and the tent was nearly $1500, but it was needed anyway in case the
weather went bad.
Our poster was received favorably by everyone, but since
it's a new idea, it hasn't caught on yet. I'll take some to the
local art community, since they're done very nicely and should sell
well. The poster is printed on high quality art paper that will
last forever.
Next year, we may have cloisonné pins as
souvenirs. Also, I don't plan on cooking at the barbeque.
Expect more attendance from California (Joe Hunt of Down
on the Deck.com), and expect some national advertising. Some
news inquiries from FOX network and ESPN have just come in. Who
knows?...
