The IMAC community
converged on the Molalla field again this past Sept.13th and 14th.
Pilots from California, Washington, and Oregon competed in the 2003
Southern Challenge. The weather was nearly perfect, 75 degrees,
slight breeze, blue sky, and fun.
Dennis Welty, the Contest
Director for the event, ordered up some handsome trophies for the
more than 30 competitors. The contest included a free lunch
for both days. The first day 1/4# polish dogs was the main
stay, and Sunday, Treager wood-fired grilled, chicken breast was the
main course. We served 64 polish dogs and a dozen chicken
burgers on Saturday, and more than 70 chicken dinners on Sunday.
Thanks to all from the
club who helped man the transmitter impound, post the score board,
etc., and a big Thanks to Bob Pearson and his wife Arlene for
furnishing the computer and entering the data in the computerized scoring
system. To see the contest results and standings as posted on
