We had an unexpected
visitor at the field today: It was Roger Wilson of the Fun Flyers
club at McGiver State Park, who literally "dropped in" with
his full-scale.GS Hawk 2-Place Arrow. There aren't many R/C
fields big enough to accommodate such a plane, but our field seemed to
handle it easily. On takeoff, he lifted off using less than
two-thirds of the runway.
Ron Campbell brought out
his latest scale project. It's a 40% Citabria Decathlon, spans 154 inches, powered
by a Saito 300 engine, and weighs 35
pounds. As with all of his planes, it
looked and flew beautifully.
Among others at the field
were John Muir with his Super Cub, Bill White with his Kaos, and Bob Walker,
who brought out his
35% Giles.
Unusually active for a
Tuesday! Must have been Spring Fever that brought people out...
