Wow, what a
Saturday! Most of you participated. I counted 32 members
that flew today, and we also had several guests. There might
even have been more members participating since some came flew and
then left.
Towed gliders, rockets,
park flyer electrics, polydihedral trainers, 3-D electrics, 1/4 scale
IMAC, precision scale, fun flyers, darts, biplanes, high wing, low
wing, helicopters, powered by single cylinder, twin cylinder, triple
cylinder, 2 cycle, 4 cycle, glow, gas, and electrics all flew here
today.
Some of the special planes
that flew today were; Bob Walker's Wright flyer, a twin electric
powered model, and Gary Parker brought out an electric Antoinette and
a three cylinder Saito powered GeeBee. Bill White brought out a
giant P51 but had engine trouble and didn't fly.
Jim Lawrence had us all on
our feet today with his low passes and thrilling show line
express. He got a round of applause after his landing.
Many members of the
community stopped by to watch the planes and a few folks inquired
about memberships.
Our only accident occurred
when Sid Healey forgot to extend his transmitter antenna, and broke
his 4 star 60 on take off. Sid also flew a neat foam electric
and towed Pat Maher's glider up with his 4-Star 60.
Thank you all for the fun
day. It was really great to see the wide spread flying action
today.
