Great Changes have been made to this outstanding and colorful event!

  • The Board of Governors of the event have voted to modify the contest to include a new combined award.  One outstanding contestant with highest combination of scores from the precision aerobatics contest the exhilarating freestyle event will receive the highest honor.  The board has voted to name this new award as the American Grande Prix of Scale Aviation.  The victor's name will be placed on a perpetual trophy which will be displayed by the contest association, and a special keepsake or remembrance will be awarded to this outstanding competitor.

  • The board has also added concurrent classifications for Senior and junior competitors to recognize the best of these cherished age groups.

  • A new and vibrant sports organization, the Molalla High School Baseball Team, has been selected to provide the food venue for this years event.  Their coach, who is also a restaurant owner in Molalla, promises an excellent sampling of festival cuisine.

  • A covered area (30X60) has been add to host a mid summer swap meet to run concurrently with the aerobatics contest.

The program begins on Thursday for the IMAC Basic pilots.  They will start and end their contest in one day.   The Sportsmen through Unlimited will compete Friday and Saturday.  The IMAC contest is planned to start at 9:00 am.  On Sunday the Freestyle tournament begins at 10:00am, then breaks for lunch with a special air show, and concludes between 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

There  will be a four-day swap meet concurrently with the contest.  A steak feed will be held just prior to the awards ceremony at 7;00pm.  There will be rubber powered flying contest, raffles, drawings, and a lot of fun every day.  We will have Hawaiian shaved ice, kettle corn, pizza by the slice, and all off the usual festival food.  We have t-shirts and posters for souvenirs.

Be sure to mark your calendar with these dates for this exciting event!
